Catch up with Renovotec ahead of IMHX 2022

Renovotec is an independent provider of supply chain hardware, software and services. This year we will be extending our offerings in voice, smart scanning, RFID and other technologies; these enable warehouse productivity increases of over 25% using up to 30% fewer staff.  In retail Renovotec will be rolling out CCTV surveillance and queuing systems, kiosks and in-store communications as well wireless networking, scanning and labelling technologies. 

We are also launching a new, longer-term rentals programme for the chosen products in our portfolio, which is designed to help supply chain users combat inflation; they will be able to rent systems and solutions for a period of up to seven years with no impact on their capital. Gartner’s worldwide user IT forecast for 2022 reveals a 5% drop in spending on devices, suggesting new potential for rental.

As it moves towards the opening of its Customer Experience (CX) Centre, Renovotec is focusing on CX user benefits – notably sustainability. By using the free resources of the CX Centre including Renovotec’s specialist supply chain consulting services, members can increase picking speed and accuracy by 35%, while overall company warehouse performance can be improved by a third. These benefits will be delivered in the sustainable environment that building from bottom up makes possible: the CX Centre is geared to performance and environment combined – so Green Performance if you will.

In a related move Renovotec is launching a Supply Chain Technology Special Interest Group (SIG) whose members will meet at the new, 50-visitor CX Centre. Regular surveys of SIG members on supply chain technology issues will be conducted, with the results shared amongst Group members and other visitors to the Centre. Sustainability will be a priority issue.

By 2025, new generations of RFID and/or electronic tagging will feature as a core component in 20% of technology solutions deployed across supply chain networks, according to Gartner in its report: ‘Adopt Next-Gen RFID Tags to Transform Technology Deployments Across the Supply Chain’.

In the 2020 Gartner ‘Supply Chain Technology User Wants and Needs Survey’ 59% of respondents ranked RFID and other forms of electronic tagging techniques as ‘important’. Gartner recommends that users should ‘adopt RFID as a viable technology option’.

Our own analysis of manufacturing user needs in the supply chain – and the technology drivers for any fast-improvement manufacturing programme - include next-generation RFID, fixed industrial scanners and production line smart cameras.

Next-generation RFID is cheaper to acquire and more flexible to deploy, while the latest generation of FIS fixed industrial scanners and MV machine vision smart cameras can track manufacturing assets and processes with great speed and accuracy, thanks to sensor technology and data analytics. Our own industry feedback shows that in combination these technologies can enable productivity improvements of up to 50%.
